12/09/15 In the 13th century St. Thomas Aquinas wondered whether space and time can be infinite. In previous blog-posts I have agreed with Peter Woit and others that in spite of intrinsically mathematical coherence, string theory lacks external evidence for itself and for the idea that there might be a multi-verse (many universes). However, I add here that in spite of insufficiency in string theory in itself, the universe could still be infinite or even that there might be an infinity of universes. Though we may never know one way or the other, we cannot exclude the possibility of an infinity of universes. Believers in supreme deity might add that infinity would better display divine power and intelligence.
