The role of music, in both its melodies and lyrics, needs to be analyzed in terms of how it moves people by overt and also subliminal appeals to emotions. Music can indoctrinate us as to what we think or feel next. Music often comprises a major force in what sells movies, programs, and commercial, political, and religious advocacies.

Ordinary films sometimes gain mass appeal and even mass suggestion by their musical scores. These in turn may either move us with our consent or manipulate us like puppets, for better or for worse, far more than we realize.

If a single picture is worth a thousand words, imagine the power radiated by motion pictures like Star Wars, with their arousing musical scores. Such nuclear-like power urgently invites further examination.
